About Our
Ministries
Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church
Our Purpose
Our primary mission is to impact those outside the church walls. People need to be connected into meaningful relationships where they can be cared for, loved, accepted, and challenged. We want to engage people with God’s love and grow into a family of mature followers of Jesus Christ.

Ryan Matherly
Youth & College Pastor
Ryan is the Pastor of Youth & College at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church. He was born in Calhoun, Georgia, and attended Georgia Southern University, where he graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in Communication Arts.
Ryan became a Christian in early 2013 and worked as Communications Coordinator for Ronald Blue & Co., a Christian financial planning firm in Roswell, Georgia.
In early 2014, Ryan felt he was being called into ministry. He moved to Rome, where he began working part-time with youth and college students at PVN. In August 2015, Ryan began pursuing a Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary. In April 2017, he accepted the call as Pastor to Youth and College. With a passion for students, Ryan works to thread the Gospel into every piece of a teenager’s experience at PVN so that the Kingdom can grow in the Middle School, High School, and Collegiate communities. He and his wife Kristen have been married since March 2018.

Eric Hall
Children’s Pastor
Eric is a native of Rome, GA, and a 1992 graduate of Armuchee High School. After graduation, he pursued a ten year career in his family’s business before returning to college and completing a Bachelor of Information Technology degree from Southern Polytechnic State University in 2005. He was hired three weeks after graduation by Shorter University in Rome to maintain its website. Eventually, he was promoted to Systems Administrator.
It was during his tenure at Shorter that Eric felt God’s call to the ministry. Even though he felt that calling earlier in life, it was while assisting and working alongside employees at Shorter that he strongly sensed God’s plan for Christian ministry. In November 2010, he surrendered his life to serving God’s kingdom. Since 2011, God has graciously provided Eric an opportunity to serve as Children’s Minister, where he is enjoying the role of ministering to children and promoting the name of Christ.
Eric is married to Tracie Snow Hall and considers her the biggest blessing in his life. She motivates him each day through prayer and support. They have two daughters, Reagan and Kenzie.
